Decorative bullet

It's a new year and Beachfront Snorkeling is going to take off and really become the place for snorkeling information in Florida this year. Next year...the world!

Decorative bullet

The site is being updated to give it a fresh look and we're adding dynamic content that will allow you to search for snorkeling sites, links and snorkel trip operators to help plan your trips.

Expect to see the new look with snorkeling site search capability in March.

By April, you should be able to search our links and in May, you'll be able to search for snorkeling trip operators, vacation spots and locations.

Beachfront Snorkeling has finally set up residence in Florida. Since it's inception about five years ago in Dayton and later Cleveland, Ohio I've only been able to sporadically add new snorkeling sites after my yearly trips to Florida. I'm here now so expect to see more frequent updates starting with the springs around Orlando and the Cocoa Beach area after Memorial day. It's been a while since I've had a chance to update this site.

Decorative bullet I also plan to finally get a data base set up to allow real time entry, searching and reporting of new snorkeling sites.

Decorative bullet

Added nine new snorkeling sites that had been submitted by visitors to Beachfront Snorkeling. Thanks to everyone who posted a snorkeling site.

August 03

Decorative bullet Added a new snorkeling site in Cozumel and Florida
Decorative bullet Still working on cleaning up the site from the conversion to Dreamweaver. I think the only thing I have left are the links pages.
Decorative bullet The Post Site form was broken from the conversion. It's back up now. My apologies to anyone who tried to post a site and couldn't. Please try again.
Decorative bullet I'm in the process of creating a snorkeling newsgroup, alt.sport.snorkeling. It should serve as a nice forum for exchanging information and snorkeling locations. I'll also archive the posts here so they'll always be available.

May 03

Decorative bullet Converting the site from FrontPage to straight HTML. Ignore the dust please.
Decorative bullet Removing links to ScubaToys and Barnes and Nobles since apparently no one was using them anyway.
Decorative bullet Finally wrote a program to convert the snorkel sites that are submitted into web pages. Check them out

January

Decorative bullet Got rid of the Books and Guides page.  No one was ordering for it so it really wasn't adding anything to the site.  It will be revised shortly to include criteria and reviews of snorkeling books and guides with no links.
Decorative bullet Updated the home page with future plans.
Decorative bullet Got rid of the Travel page since no one was using it but me to book trips.

September

Decorative bullet 2nd - Beachfront Snorkeling starts it's 5th month.  Time to finish sorting the link pages and post another snorkel site if we can find the pictures.  If anyone has some recommendations

Decorative bullet  for snorkeling sites around New Orleans we'd appreciate hearing from you.  The Post Your Snorkeling Site isn't getting a lot of business.  We'll be sweetening the pot later this month by offering Beachfront Snorkeling refrigerator magnets to anyone who posts their own site for everyone else to read.

August

Decorative bullet 23rd - Changed web host providers which caused the site to be down for a few days.
Decorative bullet 18th - Changed the title of the Resources page to Need Something and added information about the different resources pages.
Decorative bullet 16th - Update the Equipment and Accessories pages with more helpful information and links directly to the appropriate ScubaToys pages in case you want to buy something.
Decorative bullet 15th - Been working on making the link pages easier to navigate.  The equipment links should be done by this weekend.  In the meantime, Beachfront Snorkeling is now an affiliate with ScubaToys.  You can purchase items from them through us.  Check out the new Accessories page for more information about snorkeling accessories and our first ScubaToys links.
Decorative bullet 7th - Added a sitemap.  Added two new snorkeling site pages, Rock Springs is just north of Orlando.  Check it out
Decorative bullet 6th - Just got the first snorkeling location entry.  Reorganized the snorkeling location pages to make them easier to navigate.  Just because someone has already entered a location doesn't mean you can't add to it.
Decorative bullet 5th - Started reordering the link pages to make it easier to find the links you're looking for.
Decorative bullet 4th - Added some information to the Photo Tips page about the different kinds of low end cameras available for underwater photography.
Decorative bullet 2nd - Updated the Home page format and added part of a message from Dan Volker who puts out the South Florida Dive Journal,   He also had some comments on snorkeling equipment which was added to the Equipment page.  Updated the News page (got rid of the May entries)  782 visitors so far.  That's 100 in the last week.  Anyone on Singer Island interested in advertising on the Singer Island page should send me an email.  Added equipment tips and advice to the Equipment page.

July

Decorative bullet 31st - The SnorkelLogFW program has just been released.  Go to the Snorkeling Software page to get your copy!
Decorative bullet 29th - Posted a screen shot of the SnorkelLogFW program.  It will be available on the 31st.
Decorative bullet 28th - Updated some more links and replaced the Registration page with a Guest Book page.  687 visitors so far.
Decorative bullet 24th - Finally reviewed the last of the links.  The link pages should be pretty stable after this.
Decorative bullet 20th - Removed the Newsgroup page.  No one was using it and it crashed the site.  The site is back up now and looking better than ever.  Look for an announcement soon for the creation of a USENET snorkeling newsgroup.  Added a download page for the SnorkelLogFW program.   Screen shots will be posted next weekend and the software will be available July 31st.  More links will be added this weekend.
Decorative bullet 15th - Added a banner to the Home page with our new mascot hermit crab.  Tell us what you thinkAdded some more links.  We now have 393 links, 28 link partners and 330 more web sites to review.  Once that's done we'll be reorganizing some of the link pages to make it easier to find what you're looking for.  Found some pictures from a spring snorkel trip in Florida so look for more information about that coming soon.
Decorative bullet 13th - More links.
Decorative bullet 9th - Updated the link pages.  We have a total of 301 links now, including 21 link partners.  Look for more new links and our mascot to make his debut this weekend!
Decorative bullet 5th - Added a page to let you post information about snorkeling sites you've found.  You can even include a link to your web site if it has pictures or other snorkeling information.
Decorative bullet 4th - Happy fourth of July!  Updated the Home page to make it a little easier to find topics at a glance.  The SnorkelLog programming is coming along and is in testing now.  Look for it by the end of the month.  Complete the Registration to receive an email the minute it's been released
