Barracuda and a multitude of reef fish. Possibly a shark.
A ranger at John D. MacArthur State Park told me that four or five
black tip sharks hang around there. I saw one of them guarding
the inlet which kept me from rounding the point one day. Didn't
see any the other times I was there. |
| Hazards:
Surf can be dangerous, only snorkel when waves are less than 2 feet.
Fishermen on rocks. Sharks. |

| Directions:
From the strip mall walk south to the inlet. There is a sidewalk
that runs the length of the channel. Once you reach it follow
it until you get to the pump station. Enter the water from the
beach on the left of the pump station and swim around to the rocks.
As you get closer to the end of the inlet the number of submerged
rocks increases. You'll know when you get there, The amount
of fish is impressive but watch for people fishing off the rocks.
